Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Cheeriness

 Mar 6, 2012

Amie had decided she was done with America.  Done.  Over it.  Sick of all that freedom and democracy.  Oh, wait, my mistake.  She was actually done with Americana.  As in her rustic American-themed decor that had long since worn out its welcome.  So she started a revolution!  She grabbed some paint and liberated herself from the oppression of her outdated wallpaper border.  She declared freedom from her starred and striped tchotkes. She resisted the tyrannical rule of her outdated cabinets and fixtures and started over in a new world full of fresh white paint and happy red accessories, and is loving every minute of it!  Lots more to see on her blog Life with the Boys.

I am switching to all white also and some neutrals. Tired of the colors, I get tired of one then can't decide what color to go to next. This way, I can splash a little color in depending on the season or my mood or holiday. I am wanting to paint my cabinets, but I live in a mobile home and the cabinets are not real wood, yep THOSE kind. 8( I'll just have to settle for white walls, etc. Thanks for the post, it is lovely

I did a similar thing with my daughter's existing chandelier - i had painted it white years ago, but added some leftover bling from a glass chandelier. http://formandfunction-raleigh.com/2011/11/a-typical-day
